28 North, which consists of Michael Lindner on Guitar/Vocals/Rhodes, Tyler Bond on Drums/Vocals/Percussion, Jonathan Colman on Bass/Vocals and Taylor Netzler on Guitar/Vocals, will be headlining a show at The Roxy in Los Angeles on Saturday, July 30th. Voted Best Band in Pittsburgh in 2010, 2011 is proving to be just as good a year for the band.

We recently caught up with 28 North, and found out how the gig came about: "We got a taste of LA two years ago when we played the Whiskey A Go Go, and the Roxy seemed like the perfect room for us to bring our bigger, richer, more focused sound to." The band is considering the show "a grand "hello" to the West Coast from 28 North and our new management team, helmed by industry legend Jerry Heller."

28 North's new material, which they will be performing at The Roxy, continues to resonate strongly with crowds: "Our new material has been receiving powerful emotional responses, and the songs keep lifting off to higher planes each night." Continually requested songs from their ever-expanding fan base include Surrender, World on Fire and Devil's Lullaby.

Surrender "has a modern Kings of Leon pulse to it, matched with cutting emotional commentary comparing the risk of romantic relationships to jumping out of an airplane." Check out a video of 28 North performing Surrender below.

One of their other most-requested songs - World on Fire - "contains one of our most bombastic hooks, anthemic guitar work, and honest lyricism regarding some of the rootlessness we have encountered over the years blazing our trail as an original rock act."

28 North is staying in LA for the summer, utilizing the time to record new material and re-record old material, as they have experienced an immense amount of growth over the past six months: "Songs like Call Me Up, Trails, and Brother have seen a lot of growth in the live setting since Taylor's addition and they will surely get a fresh take. We all have become far more studio savvy since going full-time in March, working on a slew of other artist's albums in NYC and Philly. Most importantly, our friendship today is monolithically solid, and the creative juices have no obstructions to their flow. And they are flowing!"

Keep an eye and ear out for more from 28 North in the near future and check out what they're doing now, including July 30th's show at The Roxy.
