Writer and Comic Sean Collier To Be New Associate Editor of Pittsburgh Magazine

Sean Collier is proving to be quite the force to be reckoned with, much like his father, Sports Writer, Comedian, and Speaker Gene Collier. Sean will be taking on the position of the new Associate Editor of Pittsburgh Magazine in June, replacing the departing Sean Conboy.

A 2011 Golden Quill Award Finalist for columns with Pittsburgh Sports Report, Sean has freelanced for Pittsburgh Magazine since late 2009. This saw him regularly contributing a column on Film and Nightlife, the nightlife blog After Dark, and recently taking on the production of the weekend e-newsletter PMWeekend.

His contributions for Pittsburgh Magazine include features on local businesses, web content on sports and restaurants, interviews with Pittsburgh comic and CBS star Billy Gardell, and the November 2010 cover story 20 Hot Bars.


Sean's work has appeared locally in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, City Paper, Pittsburgh Sports Report, Penn Stater, multiple Pittsburgh area Patch.com websites, the Penn State Daily Collegian, and national publications such as Verbicide Magazine and BoxOfficeProphets.com.

Sean is also an active stand-up comic, a tour guide with Haunted Pittsburgh Tours, and regularly appears on WDVE Morning Show as an in-house movie critic and roving reporter around Pittsburgh.
