Jackie Evancho's 'AGT' Tour Dates Limited To 10 Cities

LOS ANGELES -- In a last-minute announcement, it was revealed on Jackie Evancho's official Facebook page Thursday that her "America's Got Talent tour dates would be limited to 10 of the 25 scheduled cities.
The "America's Got Talent" tour kicks off Oct. 1 in Oakland, Calif.
The message stated:
"After careful consideration and with Jackie's best interest in mind, Jackie's AGT tour appearances will be limited to the following 10 dates:"
Oct 1- Oakland, Calif.
Oct 2- Reno, Nev.
Oct 7- Los Angeles, Calif.
Oct 16- Minneapolis, Minn.
Oct 17- Milwaukee, Wis.
Oct 27- New York, N.Y.
Oct 28- Richmond, Va.
Nov 3- Boston, Mass.
Nov 4- Washington, D.C.
Nov 5- Greensboro, N.C.
"I sincerely hope that fans in cities where Jackie will not be performing understand this decision."
It is believed that Jackie's father, Mike, manages the Facebook page, although statements credited to Jackie will occasionally be posted.
An e-mail to Mike Evancho requesting a statement on the family's decision was not immediately answered.
Two notable stops missing from Jackie's dates are Las Vegas on Oct. 8 and Columbus, Ohio, on Oct. 23.
Throughout the competition, some "AGT" fans voiced an opinion that Las Vegas was no place for a 10-year-old girl. Many Pittsburgh fans, disappointed that no local tour date was scheduled, planned to travel to Columbus to see the Richland Township native.
Ticketmaster is reportedly offering refunds to fans, minus shipping and handling fees, for cities in which Jackie is not performing.
The majority of Jackie's Facebook fans seem to be in favor of the decision to limit her dates, with only a few posting messages against it.
"Her schooling comes first. She has many years to tour once she is done with school," said Mary Portnick.
"This is a VERY wise decision! It is wonderful that AGT is allowing her to pick the cities. It is good to see that many people have Jackie's best interest in mind!!" said Michelle Sattler.
"They should have informed us of this before tickets went on sale.... very deceiving... I do agree that school is important but ... it is false advertising," said Lisa Doody.
Jackie will perform in the My Macy's Holiday Parade presented by WPXI in Pittsburgh Nov. 27. The parade will be broadcast live on WPXI-TV.

Hype, Hype. Hype. Will it live up. It is being called the next 'Citizen Kane' - Predictions that this movie will sweep the Oscars and may be the best movie of all time. WOW! It will be interesting to see if 500 million facebook friends show up to the theaters to see THEIR movie. Never has the social media needle been moved more than by facebook which just surpassed google in time spent domestically on the Internet. This blogger hopes it lives up and can't wait to see a movie that is so dialed into the fabric of life that is right now, right this minute. I am typing this post with facebook open on another monitor. Facebook is becoming lifebook and I hope this movie is the movie of a lifetime. Pittsburgh hosts inaugural Fashion Week
Local models, designers and stylists will show off talents
The glitz and glam of New York Fashion Week may be over, but fashion fever is just heating up in Pittsburgh, which will kick off its first Fashion Week Monday. For seven days, organizers plan to showcase the talents of local models, designers, boutiques and stylists in runway and trunk shows, proving that the city known for steel and sports also has style.
The event will be held at multiple venues, including Heinz History Center, SouthSide Works and the Ramada Hotel and Conference Center in Green Tree. At least one fashion or trunk show is scheduled each day, with several shows slated for Friday and Saturday. A fashion market also will be held Friday and Saturday at the Ramada Hotel. The fashions of more than 50 designers and retailers will be spotlighted during Fashion Week.

Is it possible to make a sequel 23 years later? Only if it's an iconic original about a still relevant subject featuring a fascinating anti-hero made by a controversial director with a fine cast. The Hustler sequel Color Of Money had a 25 year span and did fine. And for weeks tracking had been strong for Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps. I've been obsessed with this from development through casting into production because the 1987 movie was so seminal. After all, that den of thieves is as responsible for our current financial crisis as are the politicians. The question is whether filmgoers are ready to relive pain that hasn't ended or rewind history skewed by the crazy Oliver Stone. That's his best-ever opening not adjusted for inflation or theater counts or higher ticket prices, after his 2006 World Trade Center ($18.7M) and his 2004 Alexander ($13.6M).

Venue's name sale hatches questions
Recently released financial records obtained by the Tribune-Review reveal the group initially told Gov. Ed Rendell's administration in 2008 it would not sell naming rights to the 5,500-seat venue being built next to Heinz Field.
That changed early this year when PromoWest Productions of Columbus got in touch with American Eagle, the South Side-based clothing manufacturer.
When American Eagle Outfitters bought naming rights this summer to the $12 million Stage AE concert venue on the North Shore, a sweet deal for the Pittsburgh Steelers and partners became even sweeter.

Say goodbye to Stan and Guy; again hello to Radio Disney! UGH!!
This is a bit of a shocker in here in local Pittsburgh sports talk radio. 1250 ESPN radio will remove most of its local Pittsburgh sports programming. We are sorry to see Stan and Guy leave the radio air but we are sure they will turn up again somewhere down the road. Bob Smizik reported this today at 12:30pm while local sports talker legends were still on the air. (Story Below)
Major changes next week at 1250 ESPN
According to multiple industry sources, 1250 ESPN will cease to operate in its current manner at the end of next week and most if not all full-time employees will be fired. The station will continue with a sports format until the end of the year and then switch to Radio Disney.
Present plans, according to sources, have the station carrying ESPN national programming almost exclusively until Dec. 31. On Jan. 1, the station will switch to Radio Disney, a format for pre-teens and younger that has been hugely successful and features talent such a Hannah Montana, Justin Bieber and Selana Gomez.
The Walt Disney Company, which owns ESPN, has been running Radio Disney at 540 on the AM dial (WWCS in Canonsburg). Disney's lease with WWCS expires at the end of the year. At that time, Radio Disney will move to 1250, sources say.
The station has been losing money for years, as much as $2 million a few years back. It has made significant cuts in personnel, beginning with the firing of Mark Madden in 2008, but nothing has stemmed the losses.
