Folks a great new fitness and training center will have its grand opening tomorrow in Robinson Township. They have a great day planned. Full info and video below.

All summer RJ and Scott Umberger planned things out. On October 24th they started working on the taking a covered parking garage with the goal of turning it into a place were elite athletes and those with goals of becoming elite athletes can train. There’s nothing like the buzz of like minded driven people working towards fulling their dreams. The place to come for sports performance and personal training. Specializing in dryland hockey training, lacrosse, soccer, and volley athletes.

The grand opening is on February 27th from 11am -4pm. RJ Umberger will have an autograph session. We will also have a silent auction with signed hockey memorabilia(most of it game used) from RJ, Rick Nash, Ryan Miller, Steve Mason, and Alex Ovechkin. There will be an X Box NHL ‘10 tournament. We will also have the first public viewing of NLL ‘10 by Pittsburgh’s own Carlo Suneri who has also brought to us the first Lax game “College Lacrosse ‘10″.

"Lost" The Final Season - "Lighthouse"

Some quick things out of the gate before turning you loose on the links. This is not new info but to me I had actually forgotten this since pushing the button and resetting it to 108 in the hatch are so in the past. The numbers and the mystery are heavily in play now. Jacob sent Hurley to the lighthouse and told him to set the dial to 108 degrees. We never get to see that happen but we are reminded that adding up the mysterious numbers attached to Lost, Hurley and now many of the cast that these numbers total up to 108. (4,8,15,16,23,42 = 108)


We also know that this show is filled with themes of fate and good vs evil, black vs white, dark side vs bright side, god vs the devil. Once this is over it would be a great set of novels to own and place on your bookshelf as this has been and continues to be a fantastic tale. The producers should win a lifetime achievement award for presenting such a total package not just a show with mystery that you watch then chat about briefly then watch again next week. This show is an addiction that creates a craving for more information, water cooler talk and clues. You watch this show and continue to talk and surf the net looking for more. The viewer is never full, always hungry. Especially the subtle placement of so many clues and easter eggs in every episode is brilliant as it keeps the pulse beating until the next episode. So many times books being read by a character give a way a theme or clue, posters on a wall, numbers on a door, a house address and so-on. Just great stuff and great manipulation of giving just enough but also maybe giving a little info to swerve the viewer. Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof have done a great job of feeding its hungry viewers with a steady diet of information.

Six season ago we start off thinking this is a show about passengers that are LOST on an Island and now we know that they are LOST in their lives, in their faith and in their way. Love it!

Now back to the lighthouse and how angered I am that we did not get to see what name or what vision in the mirror 108 presented. I am sure we will find out but I was yelling at the screen that common instinct would be that Hurley would want to see if his name is on the dial and what number attached to it. You would think Hurley would want to see what vision his mirror reflected. Hurley is walking around like he is on Valium. Yes, Jack was being forceful but It just felt empty that even Jack would not at least want to know what happened when turned to 108. Jack is smart and that could be a huge clue to him. At least look at 108 then get pissed and smash the mirror. That scene was just missing natural reaction but that is just my feeling.

Let's make a dealer: Casino looking for talent

Rivers Casino formally launched its search for dealers and other table game employees Monday. And with jobs still hard to come by, it didn't take long for candidates to present themselves.

Within hours after announcing the start of the search, the North Shore gambling venue had received nearly 90 online applications from people interested in becoming dealers.

Andre Barnabei, the casino's vice president of human resources, said the early total was indicative of the high level of interest in the jobs for dealers, which can pay $40,000 to $50,000 a year with tips. Of the 300 to 350 jobs the casino expects to add with table games, about 260 to 280 will be for dealers, he said.

The casino is accepting applications at www.riverscasinoteam.com for dealers and table game managers and supervisors. The dealer jobs require no experience. Managers and supervisors must have previous experience at a licensed gambling facility of similar size.

Rivers officials are providing two routes to employment.

Twitter Phishing Attack Spreading via Direct Message [WARNING]

A Twitter phishing attack is spreading rapidly today, attempting to obtain Twitter logins via Direct Messages. If you receive a message reading “lol, is this you”, and linking to a site called “bzpharma”, do not click the link.

Users who do click that link and enter their details are inadvertently letting spammers take over their accounts, which are then used to spam the same Direct Message to all their friends.

If you’re receiving these messages, your account is not compromised, but if you find you’re sending them, make sure to change your Twitter (Twitter) password immediately.

We’ve already notified Twitter of the issue.

We received this email from a daily reader of ours. We thought you would enjoy it as well as it being good info going forward about the public appearances made by the Jersey shore D-Listers. Pauly-D will be spinning at Fate (the old Privilege and Rosebud) next Wednesday and we hear it is $50. It will be a waste of time people. I mean honestly this is what moves your needle?

STORY

Last night was Pittsburgh's 'Round 2' of hosting the Jersey Shore's castmates. The show has swept the nation and has everyone still starring at their television's like deer in headlights thinking "are they really acting like this?" and yes, my friends, they are! I, like everyone else, couldn't miss an episode. The fist pumping, house drama, and the education of GTL kept me
coming back for more.

Now that the season finale aired, this cast has been doing bar tours, television appearances, and showing up on red carpets for $5,000-7,500 a pop. Ronnie and Sammie came to McFadden's back in January for 'Guido Olympics' which brought a crowd of thousands. I attended, saw them, and then wondered why I waited around so long. But alas, I didn't learn my lesson the first time, and last night, it was the "Situations" turn at Buckhead Saloon in Station Square. Like any good Jersey Shore fan, my friends and I ventured and paid the $10 cover to get a glimpse of one of the shows phenomenon's. We arrived around 9pm and the crowd was told that he was at Nakama for dinner and would be there right after that. Around 11pm he shows up. They had a VIP section at the top part of the bar and you could pay $50 to get un-crowded access. Meanwhile, the whole place was un-crowded. Definitely not the crowd that Ronnie and Sammie pulled at McFadden's. He came out on stage, looked into the audience on the dance floor, smiled for photos, pulled girls on stage, and went back to his corner in VIP. People who had paid the $50 in VIP had left because they couldn't 'hang' with him like it had been advertised. They then announced that Snooki, another character, was on her way to make an appearance. Well, she never showed up. By 12:30am, the bar was half empty and no one could care less anymore. Before 1:00am, we saw "the situation" leaving the bar with some chick and skipping out on his promised 'photo-op' to the rest of the bar. Not surprising. He probably paid her to walk out with him.

Next week's installment includes DJ Pauly D at Fate Nightclub in the strip, but after the past two events, I doubt that I'll be venturing out to see some kid from Jersey, act like an idiot, here in Pittsburgh.

WDVE Radio 102.5 FM Pittsburgh is back to normal starting tomorrow morning Feb, 17, 2010.

Morning show co-host Randy Baumann will be back in his chair next to Jim Krenn, Val Porter and Mike Wysocki. A small hangup in contract negotiations resulted in Clear Channel Communications pulling Baumann of the air and erasing him from the web site and even changed the name of the morning show. All is well and good and things will be back to normal in the morning. Welcome Back Randy.

Star-studded We Are The World 25 video premieres one month after devastating Haiti quake

The star-studded official video for We Are The World 25 was premiered yesterday, one month after a devastating earthquake claimed the lives of 200,000 in Haiti.

A-listers including Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion and Janet Jackson appear in the cover of the original 1985 single, released to raise money for the Haiti earthquake relief effort.

Before the video was broadcast on NBC, Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx, who also appears in the video directed by Academy Award-winning director Paul Haggis, reiterated how much help the devastated country needs.

Foxx said: 'Twenty-five years ago Quincy Jones gathered an amazing group of artists and musicians to create we are the World, written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie.

Pittsburgh FM Sports Talk Station Debuts. It Looks and Sounds Snorable.

KDKA-FM announces line up.

CBS Radio Pittsburgh announced today the lineup for the debut of the market's first FM sports radio station signing on the morning of February 15 as SPORTSRADIO 93.7 The Fan. The station is expected to be local sports programming 24/7 and will be available on the air, online at www.937thefan.com and streamed to mobile devices including iPhone, iPod Touch and Blackberry.

Programming the station will be Terry Foxx who has served as PD for ESPN Radio in Bristol, CT. The weekday programming schedule will be as follows:

6-10 a.m. - Paul Alexander, Jon Burton and Jim Colony
10 a.m. - 2 p.m. - Vinnie Richichi & Ron Cook
2-6 p.m. - John Seibel & Joe Starkey
6-10 p.m. - Gregg Giannotti

Well this lineup looks like a snorefest. 'Seibel and Starkey' will be solid and humorous. Ron Cook is miserable and negative. Jim Colony was once a credible news and sports man. He has since become an abrasive sarcastic fool who insists on taking the commercial break sports update report and filling it with a negative and sarcastic tidbit about a local team or player. The professional standard practice is to read the scores and headlines from the wire and not incorporate your personal opinions or agenda. Pittsburgh in general is full of unprofessional grating, abrasive, negative sports talkers. Most of these guys are sports writers and even worse the radio show producers who now have a voice and their own shows. I understand that AM radio gets crap ratings and has a crap signal so why pay anybody with talent when nobody is listening. The FM station will be worth a listen as the signal will be clear and certain time slots will be 100 times better than listening to Chris Mack, Mike Logan, Mike Pirsuta, Ken Laird, and (R.I.P.) Eddy Crow. Expect half of the FM talent to be gone once the first ratings book comes in or just before the six month period.

UPDATE: 2/15/10 -Tuned into the new show this morning. Right on cue sports clown Jim Colony while reading the sports update got cut off by the transition music to the traffic report. ha-ha. Why? Because he insists on adding his own commentary and stupid little jokes to the sports update instead of being a professional and reading the scores and news headlines. This happened twice when I was listening. You would think that after the first time he would stick to the original script. He just can't help himself from being a sarcastic wise guy. This is not a personal attack and thanks for not making this commentary look off-base Jimbo.

I also see that there is no web site support at this time for the new format. Only a link on the B-94 site. http://www.cbsradio.com/937thefan/index.html. This whole thing all seems kind of rushed. Why the hurry to be on the air today? April would have been fine as the Pens are in Playoff mode and the NFL draft is starting to buzz. Lets' check back next Feb. 15 as I don't think this station will last a full year. Okay, I found a blog for this station. I guess to early for it to be indexed by the search engines. http://937thefan.radio.com/ It is a wordpress blog and it is pretty good and loaded and has a few in-studio videos from the first day. Better than the ESPN1250 page and the FOX970 am page.

On the AM dial I see that Chris Mack has been moved to "The Drive" with Scott Paulsen and Mike Logan. I had stopped listening to Stan & Guy completely because of Chris Mack. He is so annoying and constantly interrupts two of Pittsburgh's most credible sports talkers. His jokes and voices are not funny. He is perfect for the drive as that show is a disaster and now has three guys with zero chemistry and zero sports credibility. Logan has football knowledge and that is it but he has the worst on-air presentation in the country. You can feel him reading and stumbling through his script when talking anything that is not football. Have you ever heard him conduct a hockey interview? Holy cow. A complete talking amateur. 'Seibel & Starkey' will be very good and very entertaining guaranteed and will put the drive into park for good. My gosh, Chris Mack now on 'the drive' this is now the most unlistenable show in the history of sports talk radio.

Well folks I got a late start today and I have some news to announce about a change in format. I will be moving on to another important department here at 'tnn.' So, one week into the the final season of 'Lost' I will no longer be able to bring to you an in-depth weekly episode breakdown and links. Martin Short took the stage to entertain a private convention held at the Gaylord Palms hotel in Orlando, FL this January. Bringing with him his piano player –Jeff Babko (keyboardist on Jimmy Kimmel show) Martin short wowed the audience with his many impressions from SNL, TV sitcom Arrested Development, the wedding planner in “father of the bride” and his hysterical spoof of TV interviewer – Jiminy Glick. During costume changes video clips of one of Martin’s famous & funny characters would be shown - as it concluded martin would take stage as that character. The Audience ate it up. One of the many show highlights was martin bringing up three audience members to help him reenact the song & dance in “three Amigos”. Adding to his long reel of TV credits Martin Short can now be seen in the FX show 'Damages'

Burgettstown pavilion renamed First Niagara

BURGETTSTOWN, PA -It Opened as Star lake Amphitheater, then switched to The Post-Gazette Pavilion and The destination of that long drive on Routes 22/30 to Burgettstown will now be the First Niagara Pavilion, the new name for the amphitheater, as the Post-Gazette did not renew its contract for the naming rights.

I may be in the minority but I was not excited after watching the 2 hour premiere. Maybe because I did not watch any of the recap stuff to get my mind into gear. At the 45 minute mark when locke/the man in black/ became smokey and tossed the armed men around the and then returned as locke to confront Ben..well, a rush went through me that said "this show just officially jumped the shark" I know the show has escaped reality in the past but for some reason that scene just felt like the show will be going into the Nip/Tuck overly bizarro world. I actually find myself more attracted to life off of the island. When Juliet popped the bomb, flash of white, back to the plane and then the passengers exited in slow motion and the final plane exit of John Locke and the look on his face. That right there felt like that at one point was the original ending. An ending I would be satisfied with. I am now wondering how will this all end and will it be satisfying. A few things I caught on the plane were that Jack's hair is longer than when he crashed. The stewardess serving Jack on the plane is the same woman who came out of the temple with the Asian and hippie. Hurley now believes he is lucky.

The magazine Rose was reading, the Weekly Woodsman, is a fictional magazine, but interestingly, it was also featured in a season 4 episode of Supernatural, a show that also features Mark Pellegrino (Jacob on Lost and Lucifer on Supernatural).

Originally, Hurley was in row 20, but in this new version, he's in row 33, which means both he and Sawyer next to him would've been in the Tail Section.

Inside the guitar case Jacob gave Hurley is a giant ankh, an ancient Egyptian hieroglyph seen being carried by the giant four-toed statue.

General theory that seems to answer most of the mysteries by malice.
..the trick is that the six that take off from Sydney in Season 1 are not the ones that crashed on the Island in the same episode. Let's examine this for a sec, Juliet just said it: it worked. They changed the succession of event and therefore: the past. Doing that they created an alternate existence for all the characters that survived the nuke in the the seventies. So yes, Jack, Sayid, Hurley and the others are now both living a "normal life" where, among other things, Jack will give his legs back to Locke. In the mean time, they also live on an island that simply doesn't exist and that alone can explain the nature of the island. It is this "walking" Locke that will wake on this island, with no memories about how his legs came back rig@ht after the crash.

Desmond is only there so that you realise that Widmore, as well as most of the 70's dudes died when the nuke blew. Therefore, he didn't have to go to the island, never met Jack and probably live happily with Penny. I'm pretty sure it was the last time we saw him on the show.

Observations: Who is on the plane who really shouldn’t be there? Desmond. Huh. Remember that Jack and Desmond had met once prior to that time, at a sports stadium, so no alternate-dimension deja vu is needed for Jack to think Desmond looks familiar.

Sitting next to Locke on the plane is Frogurt.

LAX Jack seems to think that there’s some sort of significance to the small bloodied spot on his neck, and I agree with him. No idea what it is, though.

There's a chance that this Sayid actually is the man in black, although it's a slim chance. If this body was someone other than Sayid, experience tells us the real body would still be around, too.

Outside, the Temple has signaled Richard's group of oncoming danger. MIB emerges from the Statue, delivers Richard a cryptic greeting ("It's good to see you out of those chains"),This gives enormous credence to the views of Richard as either a prisoner aboard the Black Rock or a slave from ancient Egypt.

Jack makes his second trip to the bathroom and has his first run-in with Kate, where they touch for just a bit too long. Kate stole Jack's pen! I still didn't get it when she broke out the pen later in the LAX bathroom.
