Next up in our comparing/contrasting Best Of's as 2010 comes to a close is Music…The music category is going to be separated into two subcategories: Albums and Singles. Some of the choices aren't all that surprising: Arcade Fire's Suburbs has been creating buzz since the moment it hit airwaves, and when has Kanye West not been on people's minds (good or bad)? But take a look at the rest of the lists; see what you think. Compare and Contrast.

I suppose we should consult the Billboard charts to see what's going on with the popularity aspect of music: According to the Hot 100, the top 10 songs of the year are: (see the link below for the entire list)
1. Ke$ha, "Tik Tok"
2. Lady Antebellum "Need You Now"
3. Train, "Hey, Soul Sister"
4. Katy Perry Feat. Snoop Dogg "California Gurls"
5. Usher Feat. Will.i.am "OMG"

7. Eminem Feat. Rhianna, "Love The Way You Lie"
8. Lady Gaga, "Bad Romance"
9. Taio Cruz, "Dynamite"
10. Taio Cruz Feat. Ludacris "Break Your Heart"

Both Arcade Fire and Kanye West (however different they may be) are getting quite a bit of love in these lists - their albums seem to be "must-listens." Robyn, Drake, and Sleigh Bells appear a lot as well.

What do you guys think of the music evaluations for the year? I love that Scherer gave Mumford and Sons some love, and Billboard gave a much-deserved shout-out to MGMT for their second album Congratulations and to Mumford and Sons for their Sigh No More.  If it isn't already obvious, I love me some MGMT and Mumford and Sons. As well as TIME's choice of The National's High Violet. But it doesn't matter what I think. What do you think? Let us know.
