Lost- Desmond accused of Sexual Harassment. "Oh Brotha"

April302009
From Buddy TV.com

---

In a 14 page lawsuit released Saturday, Chelsea Stone, a former Lost crew member, accused Henry Ian Cusick of sexual harassment and sexual battery. She's also named ABC and Grass Skirt Entertainment in the lawsuit for wrongfully terminating her when she threatened to speak up.

According to the statement, Henry Ian Cusick, who plays Desmond Hume on Lost, allegedly groped her butt, stroked her back, moaned, buried his face in her breasts and wagged his head back and forth. He then touched her breasts and kissed her on the mouth while they were on the set in October 2007. She says that when she complained about it, Henry Ian Cusick and his fellow employees became "very hostile" towards her.

Cusick has not made a statement responding to the allegations yet.

Lost: The Variable
After listening to Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof ranting in last week's Lost audio podcast, I didn't expect "The Variable" to be this much of a game changer.
observations on "The Variable" --

-First off, what a completely amazing mindf*ck. This will easily go down as one of the greatest episodes of Lost. My head hurts and I apologize for this being so jumbled. I'm sure I'm forgetting something important...

-Favorite scene of the episode? When Dan warned young Charlotte. He wasn't so scary, but he was sobering in his honesty. He loved that little girl and you could see how much he really wanted to believe that things could be changed.

"Wall Street-2" Greed is Still Good

Michael Douglas Dishes on Wall Street Sequel

Wall Street 2 Movie
On Wednesday, it was announced that Douglas will reprise his role as greedy corporate raider Gordon Gekko. Oliver Stone -- who directed the original drama -- has signed on again to helm the sequel, which has the working title Wall Street 2.

"They had another title, Money Never Sleeps, and then Oliver Stone, who directed the first one, read the new script and said I want to do it and we're going to call it Wall Street 2," Douglas said.

Given the current economic crisis, Michael Douglas says now is a better time than ever to make a sequel to his 1987 hit Wall Street.

The sequel will follow Douglas' character Gekko, who was a symbol of Wall Street corruption during the boom era of the 1980s.

"It starts up a couple years ago. Gordon Gekko has just got out of jail, and we kind of deal with all the issues that are going on now," said Douglas, who won a Best Actor Oscar for his role more than 20 years ago. "It's an excellent script. I'm really excited about it."

The sequel is scheduled to start shooting this summer.

From Cynthia Turner's Cynopsis...

NBC announced its summer series America's Got Talent will now expand to a two-hour season premiere on June 23 at 9p and the start date of the new Great American Road Trip series has moved to July 7 at 8p. On America's Got Talent, entertainer/producer/comedian Nick Cannon is the new host joining celebrity judges, David Hasselhoff, Piers Morgan and Sharon Osbourne. NBC is also toying with the idea of having British singing sensation Susan Boyle make an appearance on America's Got Talent after her smashing audition on the UK version, though nothing has been confirmed. America's Got Talent is produced by FremantleMedia North America and Simon Cowell's SYCO Television. Great American Road Trip is produced by BBC Worldwide.

Through a unique joint partnership, both NBC and MTV will air the celebrity reality series I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here! this summer from Granada America. The series premieres with a two-hour episode June 1 on NBC at 8p then one-hour episodes will continue airing June 2 to June 4 at 8p. More episodes will air on NBC Monday-Thursday from June 8 to June 18 at 8p with the final week's episodes airing Monday-Wednesday, June 22-24 at 8p. Beginning June 7, MTV will air the previous week's episodes in a marathon, as well as exclusive new footage and real time commentary from cast members. Additionally, both networks will cross-promote the series.

Furthermore, NBC announced a partial roster of celebrities participating in I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here! Those confirmed include Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt (MTV's The Hills), former NBA pro and TV personality, John Salley, supermodel and TV star Janice Dickinson, previous American Idol contestant Sanjaya Malakar, actor Stephen Baldwin, and pro wrestler and beauty queen Torrie Wilson. The other three celebrities and hosts for the show will be announced soon.

In a related story . . . even though a federal judge denied former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich the chance to travel to Costa Rica to be on NBC's I'm a Celebrity . . . Get Me Out of Here! series, he may be involved with promoting the show somehow. Blagojevich was present last Friday when the seven participating celebrities so far were revealed in a press conference and NBC and series producer Granada America are working on a way to have Blagojevich be on the show without traveling to Costa Rica. "At least, if I can't participate, I can help promote it. At this point I am looking for a new line of work. This is a chance to make a living and support my little girls," Blagojevich said.

ABC handed out 12 early 2009-2010 pick-up renewals for many of its tried-and-true primetime series including America's Funniest Home Videos, The Bachelor, Brothers & Sisters, Dancing with the Stars, Desperate Housewives, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Grey's Anatomy, Lost, Private Practice, Supernanny, Ugly Betty and Wife Swap.

After completing a successful stand-up special on Comedy Central, Ron White made a deal to get his own show on the network, reports THR. Comedy Central gave a pilot presentation order to The Ron White Show, a 30m series with branded segments, remotes and story-telling all designed to bring out White's everyman persona. White is creator of the show along with Eddie Feldmann and both will executive produce. White's manager, John MacDonald will also serve as executive producer in addition to Michael Pelmont, Brian Volk-Weiss and Barry Katz of New Wave Entertainment

From TV Week...

Bravo Working on Derby Show B&C
Bravo and NBC Sports are working on a one-hour special called "Ladies First: Bravo at the Kentucky Derby," Broadcasting & Cable reports. The special will debut May 1, one day before the Kentucky Derby, and will be hosted by NBC's Bob Costas, Nancy O'Dell of "Access Hollywood" and Bethenny Frankel of "The Real Housewives of New York City," the trade paper says.

NBC, MTV to Team Up for ‘Celebrity’ B&C
NBC is close to finalizing a partnership with MTV for the network’s upcoming reality series “I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here!,” Broadcasting & Cable reports, citing sources familiar with the situation. As part of the deal, MTV will get a window for rebroadcast of the episodes, air additional interviews and footage and become involved in the creative aspect of the series, the publication says. The deal is expected to finalize this week, B&C adds.

'Idol’ Cash Total: $8.2 Bil Portfolio
"American Idol" has generated about $8.2 billion in revenue since it went on the air, Portfolio estimates. The magazine computes the show's ad revenue, how much money performers have generated through record sales and concert tours, licensing fees and donations to "Idol" charities.

A Baldwin Joins NBC's 'Celebrity' TVWeek
Alec Baldwin's little brother Stephen will be part of the cast of NBC's reality show "I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here," TelevisionWeek says. Former Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich will also be in Los Angeles Friday when NBC announces the full cast, but he was barred from traveling to Costa Rica, where the series will be shot, TVWeek says.

'Lost's' Ratings Falling Steadily.

April222009
From BuddyTV.com
Henry Jenkins, BuddyTV Staff Writer
---

'Lost's Ratings Steadily Fall, Even as the Series Remains the Top Show on the Net

The times they are a changing. As industry watchers are well aware the television networks have been deeply concerned for some time about the encroachment of newer media onto their turf. Every new cable or premium channel, video game console or website that draws attention and excitement potentially does so at their expense. Part of the solution they’ve gravitated towards is going digital themselves, making series available online through a variety of channels, some free and some pay. But two news bulletins released today about Lost illustrate the reasons it’s growing more complicated to assess or describe how well a series is doing.

The good news, according to World Screen, is that ABC’s online expansion has so far been a success. Last month nine out of the ten most commonly downloaded television series online were furnished by ABC.com. Dancing with the Stars was March’s top earner, garnering twice the numbers of any other series with three million unique viewers. But Lost finished second in the country with 1.4 million. That may not sound like a lot when compared with Nielson rating figures in the tens of millions, but it’s more than you think.
Don't Miss

Now the bad news. Lost’s television numbers are down overall and falling. Last season the series averaged 17.1 million viewers a week over the abbreviated 13 episode run. This season that number is down to 10.2 million viewers an episode. For the past four weeks in a row Lost has failed to hit 10 million. How scary is that for Lost’s producers? Not even one new episode of the series (not counting clip shows) had ever failed to hit ten million before.

Which Actor Has Been on a Sex and Heroin Bender with a Lady Reporter?

"Which young starlet demanded 17 free handbags after forgetting she needed to buy gifts?" [NYDN]hollywood blind items

"This B list television comic actor(#1) was at a party very recently. At the party he was overheard offering a female reality tv host (#2) increasing amounts of money to sleep with him that night. At one point the offer was $20K. She declined every time and said she was faithful to her very talented celebrity significant other (#3)" [CDaN]

"This foreign born movie actor is probably C list but has a B list body of work and has been in some of the biggest movies of all time. Although he is in a relationship with someone, he has spent the last two weeks doing nothing but having sex and shooting heroin with a female reporter he met recently on a press junket." [CDaN]

Which Indie Actress' Boyfriend Killed His Wife?

"Which rehabbed actor is back on the sauce? He just can't keep his hands off the booze when he's in L.A.!" [NYDN]

"This married, aging C list movie actress was the indie "it" actress long before Parker Posey. For the past six months she has been having an affair with a man on parole for killing his wife." [CDaN] [Ed. guess: Lily Taylor?]

Who Spent $15,000 On Drugs While 'Researching a Role'?

"Which funnyman doesn't even bother to hide his drug habit? When pals come to visit his pad, they're just as likely to see baggies of cocaine lying around as they are to see throw pillows." [NYDN]

"This B list movie actor is on the cusp of A list. He had a breakout year last year. He considers himself to be a method actor to some extent. For researching one role he spent a great deal of money on drugs. Just for research mind you. Since he considered the research crucial to his acting performance he wanted to know if he could deduct the $15,000 he spent on drugs." [CDaN]

"Britain's Got Talent" 14 Year Old Andrew Johnson Wows Judges

This week has seen huge buzz around the TV show "Britain's Got Talent" Paul Potts, Connie Talbot and Susan Boyle have all made huge media statements. Here is 14 year old Andrew Johnson. He seems to be the other most talked about contestant on the show. We hope you enjoy Andrew Johnson as much as the other presented to you on the site this week.

Andrew Johnston wows judges on Britain's Got Talent
* Andrew Johnston stuns judges with sensational voice
* Teen says he's been bullied, but loves singing
* Mum says she is proud, will buy Andrew a curry

A BULLIED schoolboy who lives on a council estate has stunned Britain with his sensational voice.

Andrew Johnson, 13, was clearly nervous as he took to the stage on Britain’s Got Talent. But just like Paul Potts the year before, he left the judges in tears and won a standing ovation from the audience after performing the classical requiem Pie Jesu.

Visibly shaking, Andrew told the judges he’d been bulled from the age of six for singing, but he wouldn’t stop.

“I get bullied a lot at the local school,” he said. “My mates have been telling us to leave it because they don’t like that kind of music.”

He said he dealt with the bullies by “just keeping on singing”.

“I live in a council estate and I don’t want to be hanging around the streets, I want to make something of my life”.

Judge Amanda Holden was moved to tears by the teenager’s performance.

She rose to fame in 2007 when she reached the final of the television talent show Britain's Got Talent, where she lost to Paul Potts. Talbot was supposed to sign with Sony BMG but the label pulled out of the deal due to her age.

Talbot signed with Rainbow Recording Company and released her debut album Over the Rainbow in the UK on 26 November 2007. The album was re-released 18 June 2008 with a new track listing, and the first single from the album, "Three Little Birds", was released on 10 June 2008. Songs from the album are to feature in an upcoming video game about Talbot.

Talbot initially auditioned for the first series of television reality show Britain's Got Talent for fun, but her confidence increased when Simon Cowell, whom she is said to have idolised, described her as "pure magic" and said that he would make her earn "£1 million-plus this year". The judges expected a "joke" performance and she had never taken singing lessons, but Talbot's initial performance received international press coverage. She reached the final round after winning her semi-final with a live performance of "Ben" by Michael Jackson. On the night of the final, she sang The Wizard of Oz's "Over the Rainbow", but lost to Paul Potts as a result of the call-in vote. Talbot and Potts had been joint favourites to win the series.

Talbot lives in Streetly, in the West Midlands, and currently attends a state primary school. She lives with her mother, Sharon, her father Gavin, a self-employed property maintenance engineer, her brother Josh, and her sister, Mollie. Talbot sang "Over the Rainbow", her signature song, at her grandmother's funeral, because she and her grandmother had enjoyed watching The Wizard of Oz together. Talbot drew confidence in Britain's Got Talent from the belief that her grandmother was watching, and vowed to win the show in her memory. Despite Talbot speaking positively of the effects of her fame, her parents spoke of a darker side, including having to change their phone number and hire a bodyguard for their daughter.

Well for the second time in three days we have become aware of a performance from the TV show "Britain's Got Talent". So, if you know anybody in America with talent send the videos are way. Ha-ha. We hope you enjoy this as much as Paul Potts.

Susan Boyle, 47 from West Lothian, Scotland, is a contestant on the 3rd series of Britain's Got Talent. She surprised the judges with a strong performance of "I Dreamed a Dream" from Les Misérables in the competition's first round, aired on 11 April 2009, eliciting the "biggest yes in three seasons" from Piers Morgan and "yes"-votes from both Simon Cowell and Amanda Holden.

The majority of British newspapers carried articles on Susan Boyle's performance and subsequent internet coverage, including The Daily Telegraph and The Sun where she was given the nickname Paula Potts in reference to the contest's previous opera singing winner Paul Potts. In an interview with the Daily Mirror, Susan confirmed she had a meeting with the Sony BMG record company but said "I can't say much about it. It's early days and I'm taking baby steps."

Susan is the youngest of nine children and lives in Blackburn, West Lothian, with her ten-year-old cat, Pebbles. She stopped her pursuit of singing to look after her sick mother who died in 2007 at the age of 91.

Catholic Church Embraces YouTube Parodies With The SoulWow (VIDEO)

NEW YORK - Sinners, take heed: There's a product available now in parts of New York that will leave you with that "almost baptized feeling."

It's called SoulWow -- with the cleansing power of confession.

In a YouTube parody of the popular ads for ShamWow absorbent towels, a priestly pitchman named Father Vic calls on Roman Catholics in Brooklyn, Queens and Long Island to partake. As Father Vic says, "Nothing soothes the soul like a true confession."

The ad campaign was launched before Palm Sunday by the dioceses of Brooklyn and Rockville Centre in an effort to increase the number of people who confess during Holy Week.

Church officials say they've seen an upsurge of followers seeking absolution.

A family friend showed me a video yesterday and I thought it was very moving. It is from 2007 so many of you may be aware of who Paul Potts is. I was not. The video below is from "Britain's Got Talent" Another Show that Simon Cowell is involved with and acts as lead judge. I hope you enjoy the information and video below. My thanks to Michelle for turning me on to Paul Potts.

PAUL POTTS BIO:
Paul Robert Potts (born 13 October 1970) is a British tenor who in 2007 became the winner of the first series of ITV's Britain's Got Talent, singing an operatic aria, "Nessun Dorma" from Turandot. Potts had appeared in amateur opera productions from 1999 to 2003.

In the interview that was broadcast before his performance in the semifinal, Potts said that he had been bullied in school, and that experience may have had an influence on his lack of self-confidence. He made a similar remark in 1999 — that his voice had always been a source of solace in the past when bullied.

Potts was on a six-month sabbatical as manager at Carphone Warehouse in Bridgend, a mobile phone store some eight miles from his hometown. On 5 March, 2008, he resigned from his management position via email.

BRITAIN'S GOT TALENT:
On 9 June 2007, Potts' audition for Simon Cowell's new search-for-a-star show Britain's Got Talent was televised on ITV1 in the UK. The audition was held at the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff on 17 March 2007. Potts sang Giacomo Puccini's "Nessun Dorma," for which he received a standing ovation from the audience of 2,000 people. Contrary to popular belief, Potts did not sing a condensed version of the aria, but rather the full rendition. The editing process did not produce a "perfect" condensation, as one can see his lips getting ready to sing the next line after his second "...Nessun Dorma...", which starts with "Tu pure, o, Principessa..."

In the semi-final on 14 June 2007, Potts performed the main verses of Andrea Bocelli's "Con te partirò" ("Time to Say Goodbye"). He progressed to the final after receiving the highest public vote in that show. He performed "Nessun Dorma" for his finale on 17 June 2007, as well as an encore after he won the competition. Potts defeated co-favourite with the bookmakers, Connie Talbot, and received the highest percentage of two million votes cast to win Britain's Got Talent, and the chance to perform at the Royal Variety Performance on 3 December 2007, in front of Queen Elizabeth II.

POST-TALENT CAREER
In the United States, he was profiled on a National Public Radio programme called "Day to Day" on 15 June 2007. On 18 June 2007, a commercial US Television network, NBC, highlighted Potts' victory on its broadcast network's NBC Nightly News and on its Cable news outlet MSNBC. Then on 21 June 2007 he appeared live on NBC's programme Today.

During the programme there was some controversy as to the "undiscovered" nature of Potts' talent. He was portrayed on the show as simply a mobile-phone salesman, whereas he had in fact appeared in six amateur opera productions and in a concert for the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and had plans for a summer tour with that Orchestra. Potts responded to his critics saying that he had not claimed to be completely untutored, that he had never performed any concert for pay and was therefore amateur and that the lessons he had received in Italy had been paid for from his own savings.

PERSONAL LIFE
Potts has been married since May 2003 to Julie-Ann (née Cooper), whom he met in an Internet chat room. They connected in person for the first time at the Swansea Railway Station in February, 2001. She had the upper hand at this "first meeting" as she had a photograph of Potts, but he had no idea what she looked like.

Carrie Underwood Wants to See Matthew McConaughey's Boots. Apology Not Accepted.

April09 2009
From The ACM Awards 2009
By Frank Murgia

---

Just a few days ago the ACM Awards (Academy of Country Music) took place and to concluding Carrie Underwood Wants to See Matthew McConaughey's Sexy Boots. Aplogy Not Accepted.the evening was the Entertainer of the Year award. Film actor Matthew McConaughey presented. Before announcing the nominees and winner Matthew told a story about how he used George Strait's name to help him and his brother meet chicks and grab a little sex. The video below has the whole story as well as what was a really funny and real moment by winner Carrie Underwood. She referenced the McConaughey story and the crowd went nuts. A real cute, fun moment.

WELL - one day later Underwood came out with a public apology (An 'Embarrassed' Carrie Underwood Apologizes to Matthew McConaughey Over a Sexual Reference in Acceptance Speech) "I'm so embarrassed, I totally embarrassed myself. I just blanked," Underwood told Tarts backstage, burying her head in her hands. "You want to say something eloquent in a moment like that and I embarrassed myself. I'm sorry Matthew, I'm sorry to my family. I'm totally embarrassed."

This is such a shame that she feels this way and feels compelled to apologize. Watch the video clip. The reaction is real and raw and emotional and fun and happy. Is this religion that makes a person feel this way? Is it family values? Well, no matter what it is again it's a shame that Underwood's apology is a story. In this bloggers eyes Carrie Underwood is a flawless beauty with a heart of gold, a ton of talent and great sense of humor and has no need to apologize. But that is just me. Her apology again shows how real and genuine she is.

Apology not accepted.

The Carrie Underwood Sexual reference is at 4:03. Watch the whole video if you can. It is good fun.
