'Adventureland' filming used several Pittsburgh locations.

From Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
By Barbara Vancheri

The sign arching over the entry may say Adventureland, but Western Pennsylvanians will know it's Kennywood.

The switcheroo happened for the coming-of-age comedy "Adventureland," opening in theaters Friday. Kennywood regulars will recognize the paddle boats, the Wipeout behind dancing dervish Margarita Levieva, games such as Spill the Milk, Gone Fishin' and The Shooting Gallery and, of course, the Zambelli fireworks.

If you're looking to get your bearings:
The 16th Street Bridge is shown in multiple driving shots, and Billy's Troy Hill Bistro on Lowrie Street provided the backdrop for a celebratory meal shared by actors Jesse Eisenberg and, as his parents, Wendie Malick and Jack Gilpin. Jodi B's restaurant at 2600 Ardmore Blvd., Forest Hills, was converted into the Velvet Touch, where two characters go on a date. The Stardust Lounge on Brodhead Road in Moon plays the Stardust, while a closed bar on 20th Street in the Strip District was turned into a disco club. A field at Trinity Christian School in Forest Hills doubled as the exterior of the college attended by Eisenberg's character and private homes on Braddock Road in Forest Hills, Edwood Court in McCandless, Orchard Street in Scott, South Negley Avenue in the city, and Sycamore Street in Beaver turn up as key residences, too.
