Steelers' Chukky Okobi Headed to Arizona?

Monday August 27, 2007
from Aol Fan House

Chukky Okobi's days as a Steeler might be numbered, but he might not be too upset at the
idea of being cut.

Russ Grimm was always an Okobi fan--which explains why the Steelers signed Okobi to a second contract extension last year, then went out and signed a new center, Sean Mahan, as soon as the new coaching staff arrived. So if the Steelers decide to cut Okobi, Pittsburgh Steelers beat writer Ed Bouchette doesn't think Okobi will be looking for work for long:

If the Steelers release Chukky Okobi and his $2 million salary, look for him to go straight to the Arizona Cardinals and start against the Steelers when they play out there Sept. 30.

Sounds good to me. Okobi's biggest problem is a lack of strength to move big nose tackle
s. The Steelers happen to have one of the biggest and strongest, so if the Cardinals want to start Okobi against the Steelers, I can envision Casey Hampton spending the day in the Cardinals backfield.
