Live From Hollywood...

  • NBC will give MSNBC's Countdown with Keith Olbermann a prime time broadcast play this weekend as the prelude to Sunday Night Football's all-PA game: Steelers vs. Eagles. Countdown is scheduled to air at 7pm, and the game kicks off at 8pm.
  • Comedy Central announced the anticipated return of three of its series this fall: South Park opens its 11th season October 3 at 10p, followed by the second season premiere of The Sarah Silverman Program at 10:30p, and Drawn Together returns on October 4 at 1030p. Additionally the network has acquired a new reality series Kenny vs. Spenny about two best friends who compete against each other on everything.
  • Janeane Garofalo will join the cast of Fox's 24 this season as a government agent investigating the goings on with Jack Bauer and his crowd. Also new this season will be Cherry Jones as the President of the United States.
  • Fans of “Nip/ Tuck” will have a big surprise this season. Yes, bigger than Rosie O’Donnell naked. Portia De Rossi will be joining the cast as star Joely Richardson’s new love interest. De Rossi will play the mom of a potential breast enlargement customer and will strike up a lesbian affair when she runs into Richardson's character.
  • Reality show staple "Boston" Rob Mariano came to blows with a reality show wannabe at tryouts for the new show he's hosting. Wow "Boston Rob" is in a new reality show? Get out! What a punk. In a video posted on YouTube over the weekend, Rob -- who has appeared on two editions of both "Survivor" and "Amazing Race" -- can be seen exchanging words with another man who throws water at Rob and then shoves him. After a minute or so of posturing, Rob throws two quick right hands to the guy's head and then has security take the guy away. Wicked tough! The show -- called "Tontine" -- claims that it will be giving away "the biggest prize in reality television history" -- $10 million. Only one problem: it hasn't been picked up by an actual television network. Minor technicality.
