Live from Hollywood...

  • NBC is getting into the ring with "American Gladiators," which has been revived by the Peacock for midseason. The competition skein -- which featured players with names like Nitro, Turbo and Laser in its campy, early '90s syndie incarnation -- will be updated for the 21st century with new technology and twists.
  • Beverly Hills, CA - The L.A. County District Attorney filed criminal charges against Lindsay Lohan. The charges are seven misdemeanors -- NO FELONIES. And, there may be a plea bargain later today. Lohan, who was busted twice since Memorial Day weekend, was charged with two counts of driving under the influence. If convicted of both, she'd face a minimum of four days in jail. If a felony were filed, Lohan could have faced several years in state prison. As to why no felony charges were filed, the DA says Lohan's cocaine traces "were below the .05 grams required by office policy for felony filing." As for the second case, a law enforcement source tells us the manner in which the cocaine was seized was questionable.
  • MyNetworkTV will soon be the broadcast home to new and original episodes of NFL Network: Total Access, the weekly 60 minute show that previews the upcoming weekend's games along with segments from NFL Network's top shows. Hosted by Rich Eisen, Marshall Faulk and Rod Woodson, twenty original episodes will air on Saturdays at 9p starting September 8 through February 23 (with the exception of a handful of dates in December and January due to NFL live games).
  • Evening Broadcast News Update: For the sixteenth week out of seventeen, ABC's World News with Charles Gibson was in first place. Here is the re-cap of all three networks for the week of August 13, 2007:

  2. NBC: 7.43 million total viewers – 1.7/8 A25-54
